Ray - Alto Sax
Ray ‘Buttcheeks’ Abrahams has been blowing his ‘Horn’ for nearly 15yrs now. This hip shaking Sax player is part of the wonderful horn section of
Platform Soul.
His early musical career started in & around the pubs & clubs of Aylesbury in a local cover bands, including the superb ‘Toucan Dream’.
Ray is a happy go lucky member of the band that suffers constantly from being the butt of the band’s ridiculous jokes. He often bears the brunt of gags regarding his highlighted hair (bleached by the sun, apparently) and his sexuality (unknown). Don’t knock it til’ you’ve tried it, right Ray?
He finds wearing flares & a pimps hat at weekends invigorating, giving him the sense of those great ‘Starsky ‘n’ Hutch’ & ‘Streets of San Francisco’ day’s.
Musical infuences from the 70’s era include the great ‘Brotherhood of Man’ and the ‘Nolan Sisters’. In Ray’s world, playing the sax gives him huge sex appeal, even when performing his showpiece ‘Pink Panther’ theme. In the real world, things are very different.
