After turning inspiration from Ringo into action with the help of my school music teacher (thanks Mr M!), I put the classical guitar aside and focused on hitting things at the back of the stage. My first drum kit, bought second-hand from a Nottingham social club, enabled me to stop bashing the furniture and I eventually progressed from playing along to records in the living room to actual gigs with people watching and lights and everything!
The Beatles and The Beach Boys got me into music and I still listen to them, plus loads of other stuff. Being in Platform Soul means I get to play a stack of classic funk, soul and disco tunes, some of my favourite songs and drumming of all time in fact. It's a great gig! See you down the front.
